When autumn leaves begin falling, it’s us you need to be calling.
It’s been a busy week for Bluebell Handyman and Gardening Services, there are still plenty of jobs to be done in the garden even though winter is closing in and the days are getting shorter. I’ve been clearing leaves from lawns and driveways in Hessle and Kirkella in West Hull, damp leaves can be dangerously slippery, especially with a touch of frost added in for good measure! There has also been plenty of weeding to be done and a bit of winter pruning and tying back. Simon has also been in Hessle tiling a gable end of a new build house and enjoying a glorious view of the Humber Bridge. Then he got a call to do some window repairs for a customer who owns rented properties in Bradford so he nipped over to look at that to round off the day. He is taking a chimney stack down tomorrow in Anlaby and log chopping booked in for Friday to keep those winter chills at bay.
This is a good time of the year for:
Giving the greenhouse a thorough clean: keep the glass clean to let in as much light as possible on the dull short days.
Rough digging vegetable beds: especially heavy clay soil which will benefit by allowing the frost and weather to get in and break down large clods.
Pruning fruit bushes and roses in milder weather
