Car Port, Willerby – Hull – East Yorkshire
A customer in Willerby near Hull, East Yorkshire who we have already supplied 2 pergolas, driveway gates and fencing for called to ask us to supply and install a cover for their car at the rear of their property.
The car port was designed with a slight slope so that any rain would drain onto existing garage roof and into existing gutter.
We discussed different roof materials, we could have gone for timber and felt or corrugated bitumen but we decided on metal cladding. The size was designed to suit the standard length of the metal roof cladding which was 4m long to avoid any cutting. The cladding was screwed to the timber roof purlins with steel self tapping screws, these came with colour matched plastic caps.
It was to be erected on their driveway at the rear of their property.
It was built using 100×100 treated timber posts which where fitted with metal feet and screwed to the concrete slab. Side support timbers where out of 150 x 50 timber and purlins where 75 x 50 timber. All timber was pressure treated and supplied by Howarth Timber of Cottingham. Howarth Timber
